“I’ve lived through two eras of media and television in my life. As a child, I remember watching black and white TV with my grandfather. A lot of my life can be credited to him- he opened my eyes to the wingspan of possibilities out there at a very young age. I was also passionate about cars and bikes, karate, swimming and gymnastics. That’s how I entered the world of stunts in the late 90’s.
I was 12 years old when I got my first call to perform flips for Aishwarya Rai in an advertisement. Word spread like wildfire after my first commercial in which I somersaulted from a height of 30 feet. My first movie was ‘The Hero: Love Story Of A Spy’. There’s been no looking back since then. I’ve worked in over 200 movies like Raavan, Race 3, Dhoom, and had the privilege of working with some really big names. There’s been a range of stunts such as deep sea diving, sword fighting, bungee jumping, Jujutsu, Muay Thai, kickboxing, riding a 1000 cc bike- not only that, I’m also a certified professional in all of them. It hasn’t been an easy ride but I’ve always taken life with a pinch of salt and a pound of positivity!
By 23, I had completed my doctorate in Clinical Hypnotherapy. Now with the lockdown, there’s so much chaos and disturbance with job losses, pay cuts, trouble at home- it is so important to keep reminding ourselves of the importance of mental health. There’s always so much to learn and incorporate into the beautiful capacity of our minds, what better time to expand our knowledge than now? Being a stuntwoman definitely has a lot of risk involved, but so does life. It’s really all about how you tackle it!”
