“We weave stories with threads as handloom weavers. Growing up, I watched my parents work with threads and looms, and by age 12, I was already refining my skills, weaving sarees.

As I mastered the art, my creations evolved into traditional Pochampally sarees adorned with intricate ikkat motifs.

In 2022, our Pochampally village received the ‘Best Tourism Village’ award from the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), establishing us among the world’s top village tourism spots.

Weaving a Pochampally saree is more than a craft; it’s a tradition passed down over 180 years. Sitting at my loom feels like painting with threads, telling tales of our rich culture. Despite challenges, we are focused in preserving this art. Pochampally sarees symbolize more than fabric; they embody our dedication and heritage.

Certainly, we faced challenges, especially during the pandemic. Yet, our resilience knows no bounds, bouncing back with renewed passion.”
