“As an ardent cricket fan, I am quite excited about today’s India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup match. It’s been almost three years ever since the two rivals played each other and I certainly believe it’s going to be a high-intensity game with both sides having an equal opportunity to open their winning tally in the Super 12 stage.

It’s clear with the past records that India have dominated Pakistan at ICC events and is unbeaten in the t20 World cups. However, it’s equally important for us not to get carried away with the records as the Pakistan cricket team can surprise anyone on their given day.

I am a hardcore MS Dhoni admirer. I believe his mentoring role for Team India this T20 World Cup 2021 will be crucial to get the right spirit among the team. One more thing to consider is Virat Kohli’s captaincy. It’s hard to digest the fact that this is going to be his final tournament as a T20 captain for Team India but I think we are in a great position to perform well with the kind of balance we have in the squad.

I was quite concerned with the exclusion of Ravi Ashwin in the white-ball cricket for a long time and it’s good that he’s going to make a comeback into the T20 squad after almost 4 years. I believe we have a great balance in both the batting and bowling departments alongside the three good all-rounders who could win the match for us.

Let’s just hope the spirit of the game wins over anything else. It’s always better to watch Cricket by keeping the Politics and hate aside and enjoying the game tonight.”
